How To Print School Paper At Home

How To Print School Paper At Home/School And Bind It Like A Pro

Printing the school's publication at a printing press is very costly. That is, it costs an arm and a leg for the school paper fund that the biggest percentage of the SP budget goes to printing alone.

But with a regular printer and several reams of bond paper we could save as much as seventy percent of the total expenses if the printing job is done within the school.

In this post, I would like to share with the School Paper Advisers how to get rid of an expensive offset printing. This alternative, however, would not make our school paper qualify for the school paper contest as it requires offset or digitally printed papers.

Notwithstanding the drawback, printing the school paper using an inkjet printer not only saves money but also makes the work of the editorial staff more manageable since going to the printing press and back again and again for proofreading is no longer needed.

Folks, these are the things that you need to buy: an inkjet printer (choose the one that has a continuous ink system), ink bottles (you may buy original ink or that sold by third party ink companies and be sure to buy ink compatible for your printer), bond paper (number of reams depend on the total student population, teachers, reserved copies for the press conference, etc.), glue (buy bigger bottles to save more), scissors (look for a durable one), and stapler and boxes of staple wire (opt for the larger one - no.35 or 26/6 staples - and prefer quality products).

But of course, before doing all the printing stuff, the school paper editorial staff, the layout artist/editor for instance, has to layout the school paper in the Microsoft Office Publisher. This job takes time and patience, but not that hard to accomplish. In fact, doing this particular job all by ourselves is as uncomplicated as working in a group.

How To Troubleshoot The E-Class Record (E-Class Record Troubleshooting Tips)

E-class record is a convenient option for teachers to record and compute the grades of their students, but sometimes there is a need to make some changes in it. And when this problem pops up, a not so computer savvy teacher does not know what to do. Good thing we have the internet to help us out of this dilemma.

how to edit or make changes in e-class record

In this post, I would like to share my own tricks on how to edit, make some changes in your e-class record. Below are the problems with their corresponding solutions.
  • Problem: The weighted score or the percentage score or the initial and final grade does not appear on the box where it is supposed to show up.
    • Solution: You need to copy the formula on the adjacent box (below or above the box where the number does not appear). The formula is found in the formula bar above. Then, paste it on the box where the score does not appear. Change the column number to match the box where it is located.

  • Problem: There are still more empty rows after the last name of the student and you want to erase them.
    • Solution: Highlight the empty rows you want to erase, then right click. Click delete and choose entire row and click OK. If the cells are protected, you have to click review on the tabs above, then click unprotect sheet and follow again sentences 1 and 2 in this solution.

  • Problem: The box can barely accommodate the name of the student or his last name is not shown completely.
    • Solution: Highlight the box or cell including the ones next to it then, click home and click merge cells. Remember that you can't merge cells if they are protected. You have to unprotect cells first by clicking review tab and clicking unprotect cells.

  • Problem: There's trouble when printing. Some parts of the page you want to print are cut.
    • Solution: The reason behind this is that the left out parts are out of the printable area. All you need to do is to adjust the size of the page. To do this, you click page layout and look for the word scale, then scroll it down to adjust its percentage.

How To Make 'Tarpapel' Using Microsoft Office Publisher

Teaching has never been easy. Teachers have to go through a lot while in the classroom. They have to deal with different types of students, think of better teaching strategies and attend to a myriad of extra-curricular activities and ancillaries.

how to print tarpapel

To lessen the burden of teachers, as well as to minimize their expenses, we try to create a video clip on how to make a "tarpapel" coined from tarpaulin and papel (paper) using the Microsoft Office Publisher (MS Office 2013).

"Tarpapel" is ideal when printing pictures with the size that your ordinary printer can't accommodate.

Read our step by step tutorial in the sideshow below.

step 1. Open your MS Office Publisher.

step 2. Choose your desired paper size in Page Design tab. It must be greater than letter or legal.

step 3. There are custom and built-in sizes but if it is not there, click Page Setup or Create New Page Size. A Create New Page Size window will pop up. Under Page, you can change the height and width of your paper. You can also customize the margin under this window. Then click OK.

step 4. Go to Insert and click Picture to insert the picture you want to print. Or you can simply copy the picture and paste it on the Publisher.

step 5. Adjust your picture's size to fit within the printable area of the page you have chosen.

step 6. After you have positioned the picture perfectly, print it (ctrl P). A printer's dialogue should appear. Under Pages, choose Tiled and click print.

step 7. Wait until the printing is done. Your picture will be printed by parts (depending on the size you have created. The bigger the size, the more number of parts will be printed. It can also be seen in the printer's preview.). When it's finished you can do the scissors' job.

step 8. Then piece together the picture parts. The edges of the picture parts are cut in two different ways. The other part should be cut without white space visible while its corresponding part (the one which you will join with no white space) must be cut leaving a approximately a half centimeter of white space behind. We do this so that we have an area to paste the picture on (the one which is cut with no white space).

Hopefully I am helping you out in your tarpapel making and start doing wonders in your classroom.
