Since its establishment through Presidential Proclamation No. 479 in 1994, November has been dedicated to Filipino Values Month. This annual celebration underscores the importance of nurturing the values that define the Filipino identity and character. For 2024, the Department of Education (DepEd) has embraced the theme: Pagsulong ng Bagong Pilipinas: Ang Kabataan Bilang Pundasyon ng Pagbabago (Advancing a New Philippines: The Youth as the Foundation of Change).

This year’s observance aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Bagong Pilipinas agenda, emphasizing the pivotal role of the youth in shaping a progressive and resilient nation. Filipino learners are recognized not only as future leaders but also as key agents of transformation today. By combining their innovative perspectives, responsible actions, and active participation with deeply rooted Filipino values, they can drive meaningful change.

Key Goals of the Celebration
The 2024 Filipino Values Month aims to:

  1. Reinforce national values as the foundation of a strong, resilient society.
  2. Highlight the youth's role in creating a brighter and more prosperous future.
  3. Promote authentic Filipino values as a guide to achieving national goals.
