📚 Empowering Education: DepEd's Engagement of Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs) for 2025

In a continued drive to uplift the Philippine education system, the Department of Education (DepEd) has launched plans to engage Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs) for the 2025 Learning Camp, happening from April 14 to 21, 2025. This initiative supports students through intervention, consolidation, and enhancement camps focused on Reading, English, and Mathematics.

DepEd's Engagement of Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs)

Here’s a complete breakdown of how this program works, who can join, and why it’s a major step toward academic improvement.

👩‍🏫 What is the Role of Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs)?

LCVs are the backbone of the 2025 Learning Camp. These dedicated volunteers help facilitate specialized sessions aimed at improving students’ skills and academic performance in core learning areas like Reading, English, and Math. They work directly with learners to deliver customized and effective instruction based on each student’s needs.

🧑‍🎓 Who Can Serve as Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs)?

Both DepEd and non-DepEd educators are welcome to serve as LCVs. Non-DepEd volunteers may include:

  • LET-eligible DepEd applicants listed in current or previous Registries of Qualified Applicants (RQAs).

  • LET-eligible applicants who didn't meet the cut-off score in the RQAs but still hold potential for teaching roles.

  • LET-eligible community educators, such as teachers from private schools, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and other qualified teaching practitioners. These candidates must pass screening and meet the criteria in Annex 2 of the official guidelines.

🧮 How is the Number of LCVs Determined?

The number of LCVs required depends on the number of learners per:

  • Camp type

  • Learning area

  • Grade level

Here’s how many learners are allowed per LCV, based on the type of camp:

  • 📘 Intervention Camp: 1 LCV for every 5 learners

  • 📗 Consolidation Camp: 1 LCV for every 25 learners

  • 📙 Enhancement Camp: 1 LCV for every 25 learners

These ratios ensure that all learners receive personalized, high-quality instruction.

🌟 Why This Matters

This initiative is a vital step in bridging the learning gaps caused by past disruptions in education. With the help of qualified volunteers, DepEd aims to make basic education more accessible and effective for all Filipino students. By expanding opportunities for both licensed and aspiring educators, the department promotes a more inclusive and dynamic learning environment.

🎯 Final Thoughts

The 2025 Learning Camp reflects DepEd's dedication to providing equitable and quality education to all Filipino learners. By engaging Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs) across all levels, this program empowers communities to play an active role in shaping the future of education.

Whether you're a seasoned teacher or just starting out, this is your chance to make a lasting impact on learners nationwide.

2025 Learning Camp: Incentives for Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs) Explained

As the Department of Education (DepEd) gears up for the 2025 Learning Camp, educators and volunteers across the Philippines can look forward to meaningful incentives. The Learning Camp is designed to extend support to learners beyond regular school days, and Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs) — both from DepEd and non-DepEd institutions — play a crucial role. Here’s everything you need to know about the incentives for LCVs in the 2025 Learning Camp, based on the official guidelines.

Incentives for Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs)

💼 Incentives for DepEd and Non-DepEd LCVs

LCVs are entitled to several incentives as recognition for their services during the Learning Camp, which operates beyond normal school schedules. According to DepEd Order No. 014, s. 2023 (paragraph 54), these are the specific benefits for LCVs:

a. DepEd LCVs

  1. Vacation Service Credits – Earned for teaching beyond regular hours.

  2. National Level Certificate of Recognition – Acknowledging national service.

  3. Meal Expense Reimbursement – ₱250.00 per day of actual service.

b. Non-DepEd LCVs

  1. Certificate of Services Rendered – Based on the contract and attendance.

  2. National Level Certificate of Recognition.

  3. Meal Expense Reimbursement – ₱250.00 per day of actual service.

🕐 How DepEd LCVs Earn Vacation Service Credits

Based on DepEd Order No. 53, s. 2003, six hours of actual classroom teaching qualifies as one day of vacation service credit. However, LCVs in the 2025 Learning Camp are expected to render 4.5 hours of teaching daily. To qualify for the service credit, they must complete an additional 1.5 hours, which can be fulfilled through:

  • Interest-based activities, including:

    • Basic computer skills

    • Arts and sports programs

    • Other age-appropriate enrichment activities

This holistic approach ensures that learners are engaged in more than just academics, while also giving LCVs flexibility in fulfilling their service hours.

📝 Online Survey Tool (OST) Requirement

To finalize participation, all LCVs — both DepEd and non-DepEd — including school heads, are required to accomplish the Online Survey Tool (OST). The survey will be available on the last day of the 2025 Learning Camp, and participants are given until June 9–10, 2025 to complete it.

Completion of the OST qualifies LCVs for the National Certificate of Recognition, with other incentives processed by the respective Schools Division Offices (SDOs).

🔍 Why These Incentives Matter

These incentives not only show appreciation for the dedication of LCVs but also help maintain the high standards of learning delivery during school breaks. By participating in the Learning Camp, educators contribute to nation-building through enriched learner experiences — all while being fairly compensated.

📌 Final Thoughts

Whether you're a DepEd teacher or a non-DepEd volunteer, the 2025 Learning Camp provides a valuable opportunity to make a difference while receiving well-deserved benefits. Don’t forget to track your teaching hours, participate in interest-based activities, and complete the OST for full recognition of your efforts.
