What Happened to Judas After He Betrayed Jesus? A Biblical and Historical Overview

Judas Iscariot is one of the most infamous figures in Christian history. Known for betraying Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver, his actions set into motion the events that led to Jesus' crucifixion. But what happened to Judas after the betrayal? The Bible gives us more than one account of his fate, and these versions have sparked debate for centuries. In this post, we’ll explore what the scriptures say, the differences between the accounts, and how history and tradition have interpreted Judas’ tragic end. Who Was Judas Iscariot? Judas Iscariot was one of the twelve original disciples of Jesus. He served as the group’s treasurer and was trusted enough to carry the money bag (John 12:6). However, he ultimately became the one who handed Jesus over to the authorities, identifying Him with a kiss in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:47–50). The Betrayal: Judas and the Thirty Pieces of Silver The Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 26:14–16) recounts that Judas went to the chief p...

🎓 CHED Merit Scholarship 2025

🌟 Why the CHED CMSP Is More Than Just a Scholarship 💡

The CHED CMSP 2025 isn’t just another academic grant. It’s a merit-based award specifically designed to recognize the hard work and academic excellence of graduating high school students. This program gives priority to those who’ve achieved a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 93% or higher, making it one of the most prestigious and competitive scholarship opportunities in the Philippines.

But this scholarship goes beyond recognition. It directly supports students’ financial needs, covering not only tuition but also educational expenses—helping scholars fully immerse themselves in academic life without being held back by money concerns.

💼 What You’ll Receive: CHED CMSP Financial Benefits Explained 💸

Students accepted into the CMSP are classified into either FULL or HALF merit levels. Your assigned tier will determine the scholarship amount you receive:

  • Those enrolling in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) or Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) can receive ₱80,000 per year for full scholars or ₱40,000 per year for half scholars under the SSP track.

  • Students choosing a Private Higher Education Institution (PHEI) may receive a more substantial benefit of up to ₱120,000 for FULL-PESFA and ₱60,000 for HALF-PESFA, helping bridge the financial gap for private education.

This isn’t just aid—it’s freedom. With these amounts, scholars can pay for tuition, learning materials, and even a portion of living expenses.

Understanding Grade Transmutation in DepEd In the Philippine education system, grade transmutation is the process of converting raw scores into equivalent grades. How Does Grade Transmutation Work? Initial Grades : Students receive raw scores (usually out of 100) for their assessments, exams, and projects. Let’s take a closer look at the scale: Table Initial Grade Range Transmuted Grade 100 100 98.40 – 99.99 99 96.80 – 98.39 98 … … 68.00 – 69.59 80 Below 68.00 60 Interpreting the Scale : For example, if a student scores between 98.40 and 99.99, their transmuted grade will be 99.
