In a continued drive to uplift the Philippine education system, the Department of Education (DepEd) has launched plans to engage Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs) for the 2025 Learning Camp, happening from April 14 to 21, 2025. This initiative supports students through intervention, consolidation, and enhancement camps focused on Reading, English, and Mathematics.

👩‍🏫 What is the Role of Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs)?

LCVs are the backbone of the 2025 Learning Camp. These dedicated volunteers help facilitate specialized sessions aimed at improving students’ skills and academic performance in core learning areas like Reading, English, and Math. They work directly with learners to deliver customized and effective instruction based on each student’s needs.

🧑‍🎓 Who Can Serve as Learning Camp Volunteers (LCVs)?

Both DepEd and non-DepEd educators are welcome to serve as LCVs. Non-DepEd volunteers may include:

  • ✅ LET-eligible DepEd applicants listed in current or previous Registries of Qualified Applicants (RQAs).

  • ✅ LET-eligible applicants who didn't meet the cut-off score in the RQAs but still hold potential for teaching roles.

  • ✅ LET-eligible community educators, such as teachers from private schools, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), and other qualified teaching practitioners. These candidates must pass screening and meet the criteria in Annex 2 of the official guidelines.

🧮 How is the Number of LCVs Determined?

The number of LCVs required depends on the number of learners per:

  • Camp type

  • Learning area

  • Grade level

Here’s how many learners are allowed per LCV, based on the type of camp:

  • 📘 Intervention Camp: 1 LCV for every 5 learners

  • 📗 Consolidation Camp: 1 LCV for every 25 learners

  • 📙 Enhancement Camp: 1 LCV for every 25 learners

These ratios ensure that all learners receive personalized, high-quality instruction.
