Issued on June 7, 2016, DepEd Order No. 036, s. 2016 provides clear and consistent guidelines for granting awards and recognition to K to 12 learners from Kindergarten to Senior High School. It supports the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, also known as the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013.

🏆 Types of Awards Under DepEd Order No. 036, s. 2016

1. 🎓 Classroom Awards

Given per section every quarter or as needed.

  • Kindergarten: Most Active Learner, Best in Literacy, Best in Numeracy, and character-based awards (e.g., Mabait, Mapagbigay, Masunurin).

  • Grades 1 to 12:

    • Academic Excellence (Quarterly and Year-end):

      • With Highest Honors: 98–100

      • With High Honors: 95–97

      • With Honors: 90–94

    • Conduct Award: Exemplary behavior and core values

    • Perfect Attendance

2. 🎖 Grade-Level Awards (End of School Year)

These recognize achievements that span the full year, and are often announced during graduation or recognition ceremonies.
