How to Get Your PRC Documents Certified or Authenticated: A Step-by-Step Guide

If you need to have your professional license, board certificate, or other PRC-issued documents certified or authenticated, you must follow PRC’s official procedure. Whether you’re applying for a job, going abroad, or completing legal requirements, this guide will walk you through the steps for a hassle-free process.

What is Certification and Authentication?

Certification and authentication ensure that your PRC documents are verified as true copies of the original records. Authentication is sometimes referred to as "Red Ribbon" (although this term is no longer used since the adoption of the Apostille system).

Step-by-Step Procedure for Certification/Authentication

Step 1: Download and Fill Out the Required Forms

Before going to the PRC office, download and accomplish the necessary forms:

🔹 Action Sheet for Authentication
🔹 Action Sheet for Certification
🔹 Form for Petition for Correction of Entries or Data
🔹 Form for Petition for Change of Registered Name due to Marriage

Make sure to provide accurate and complete information to avoid any processing delays.

Step 2: Pay for Metered Documentary Stamps at the CSC (Customer Service Counter)

Proceed to the Customer Service Counter (CSC) to purchase metered documentary stamps. These stamps should be affixed to your original and photocopied documents.

Step 3: Pay the Processing Fees at the Cashier

After securing the required stamps, head to the cashier and pay the prescribed fees for certification or authentication. Retain the official receipt for future reference.

Step 4: Submit Your Documents

Go to the designated Registration Division Window and submit:
✅ The duly accomplished Action Sheet
✅ Original and photocopied documents (license, registration certificate, etc.) with metered documentary stamps
✅ Official receipt as proof of payment

Once submitted, you will receive a claim slip with instructions on when to return for document pickup.

Step 5: Claim Your Certified/Authenticated Documents

On the scheduled release date, return to the PRC office and present your claim slip to receive your authenticated or certified documents.
