New Regulations for Vape Products in the Philippines: Look for the Tamaraw Stamp

In a move to crack down on counterfeit and untaxed vape products, the Philippine government has implemented new regulations. All vape products sold in the country must now carry a special 4th Generation Internal Revenue Stamp featuring the iconic Philippine Tamaraw.

This measure aims to ensure the authenticity of the products and guarantee that proper taxes are being paid. Consumers are advised to be vigilant and only purchase vape products with these new stamps.

What to Look For:

  • 4th Generation Internal Revenue Stamp: This stamp will feature the image of the Philippine Tamaraw.
  • Stamp Placement: The stamp should be affixed to the upper part of the product container, like a box or bottle. It should be positioned to obstruct the opening, making it impossible to remove without damaging the stamp.
  • Cellophane Wrapper: The stamp must be enclosed within the clear wrapper on the product.
  • Container Design: Vape product containers should have only one opening at the top, designed so the product cannot be removed without breaking the seal.

What to Do:

  • Don't Buy Without a Stamp: Refrain from purchasing any vape product that lacks a stamp or has a damaged stamp.
  • Report Violations: If you encounter sellers offering untaxed or counterfeit products, report them to the proper authorities.
