Streamlining Loan Payments with SSS: A Guide for Employers and Members

Managing loan payments can be a hassle, but the Social Security System (SSS) has made it easier for both employers and members with existing loans. With the introduction of Payment Reference Numbers (PRN), the SSS ensures a smoother and more efficient payment process.

What is a PRN?

A PRN is a unique identifier for your loan payments. It is available every 7th day of the month and can be accessed through the RTPL-PRN tab in your My.SSS account. This system-generated number is crucial for correctly applying your payments to your loan.

How to Obtain Your PRN

To get your PRN, follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your My.SSS Account.
  2. Navigate to the RTPL-PRN tab.
  3. Download or print out the PRN for your loan.

Additionally, the PRN for loans will also be sent to your email or via SMS to your mobile phone, provided you have updated your contact information with SSS.

Ensuring Timely Payments

For the fast and easy payment of Salary, Calamity, Emergency, and Restructured Loans, please ensure the following:

  • Register for a My.SSS Account: If you haven’t already, sign up for an account to access various services, including PRN retrieval.
  • Update Your Contact Information: Keep your email address and mobile number current through your My.SSS Account or by submitting Form E-4 at an SSS Branch.
  • Download/Print Your PRN: Do this every 7th of the month to use when paying your loan amortization.
  • Meet the Payment Deadline: Pay your loans by the last day of the month following the applicable month. If the deadline falls on a weekend or a holiday, payment can be made on the next business day.
  • Present Your PRN: When making loan payments, whether through online payment facilities, banks, non-bank collecting partners, or over-the-counter at SSS branches with tellering facilities, show the PRN-Loans printout or the text message.
