In a landmark achievement, the Department of Education (DepEd) of the Philippines has announced that 15 of its Regional Offices have been recommended for the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 Certification in Quality Management Systems (QMS). This certification is globally recognized and signifies an organization’s commitment to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in products, services, and international supply chains.

The successful audit was conducted by TÜV NORD Philippines, Inc., a leading entity in inspection, certification, and testing on a global scale. The regions that have passed the rigorous two-stage audit include I-Ilocos, II- Cagayan, III-Central Luzon, IVB- MIMAROPA, V-Bicol, VI-Western Visayas, VII-Central Visayas, VIII-Eastern Visayas, IX-Zamboanga Peninsula, X-Northern Mindanao, XI-Davao, XII-SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, CAR, and NCR.

This accomplishment is a testament to the “One DepEd, One QMS” initiative, which aims to standardize processes and services across all regional offices to ensure better client satisfaction and improved service delivery. The initiative aligns with the Presidential Directive for government agencies to streamline services and enhance quality management, as well as the provisions of Executive Order No. 605, s. 2007, which mandates all departments in the Executive Branch to establish a QMS certified to ISO 9001 standards.
