In preparation for the phased rollout of the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum, the Department of Education (DepEd) has launched a vital initiative for selected educators nationwide. The National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP), together with the Curriculum and Teaching (CT) Strand, is spearheading face-to-face and online training programs for teachers handling both Core Subjects and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TechVoc) specializations.

🔍 What is the Strengthened SHS Curriculum?

The Strengthened SHS Curriculum is a restructured program aimed at enhancing the quality of instruction in Grades 11 and 12 by updating content, aligning with current industry standards, and deepening academic rigor. This move supports DepEd’s thrust towards a future-ready education system.


🏫 Training Details: Who, When, and Where?

Four training batches will be rolled out to equip teachers from identified pilot schools across the country:

  • 📅 May 25–28, 2025 (Core Subjects – Batch 1, Face-to-Face in NCR)

  • 📅 May 28–June 1, 2025 (Core Subjects – Batch 2, Face-to-Face in NCR)

  • 📅 May 25–31, 2025 (TechVoc Track – Face-to-Face in NCR)

  • 🌐 June 2–7, 2025 (Core & TechVoc Subjects – Online)

These sessions are not merely seminars—they are immersive training events targeting Grade 11 teachers who will handle either academic core subjects or TechVoc strands such as Agriculture, Fishery and Arts, Industrial Arts, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Family and Consumer Science (FCS), and Maritime.


📋 Pilot School Participation and Selection Process

Only teachers from pilot schools identified in the Joint Memorandum OM-OSEC-OUOPS-2025-01-03133 are eligible. The regional offices (ROs) are tasked to coordinate and complete the Target Participants Sheet via this form:

Each school may nominate:

  • One teacher per core subject

  • Specific TechVoc teachers depending on assigned electives (check Enclosure 1)

💼 Training Logistics and Requirements

Participants attending face-to-face sessions must:

  • Bring their own laptops, chargers, extension cords, and internet devices

  • Refer to Enclosure 2 for venue and accommodation arrangements

Additionally, ROs must assign Program Management Team (PMT) Members as Classroom Managers, as detailed in Enclosure 4.

Attending educators will receive:

  • Vacation service credits (DepEd Order No. 009, s. 2025)

  • Full coverage for travel, lodging, and materials from the 2025 Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) Funds

  • Additional financial support may be sourced from HRTD or other local funds if needed
